History of Our Thrift Stores
The Los Angeles thrift store has been in continuous operation since 1917 and serves more than 150,000 customers a year.
The Oxnard thrift store operated from 2008 to 2013. The Long Beach thrift store has been operating since 2009.
The Society’s Los Angeles thrift store has been recognized by numerous publications such as the Los Angeles Times, L.A. Weekly and Los Angeles Magazine which have praised both the size of the store’s inventory and the variety and uniqueness of its merchandise.
Cable TV shows such as “Pit Bulls & Parolees”, “Home Made Simple” and “Design on a Dime” have shot our personnel and trucks doing drop offs of donated furniture to the disadvantaged, pickups of donations or have used the Los Angeles stores’ furniture in interior designs and filmed shows at the Los Angeles store.
Because new merchandise arrives daily, many shoppers make frequent visits so as not to miss out on the latest bargains and sales.
